Three films distributed by Lionsgate and A24 were big winners at the 28th annual Gotham Awards Nov. 26, a ceremony honoring independent film and television production.
Eighth Grade won the Bingham Ray Breakthrough Director Award for Bo Burnham and Breakthrough Actor for Elsie Fisher. First Reformed won Best Screenplay for Paul Schrader and Best Actor for Ethan Hawke, and Hereditary won Best Actress for Toni Collette.
Among other winners, Best Feature went to The Rider, which can be purchased digitally from Sony Pictures Classics. The first season of BBC’s “Killing Eve” won Breakthrough Series — Long Form.
Universal’s Won’t You Be My Neighbor won the Audience Award.
