Paramount Home Entertainment’s Top Gun: Maverick was the top-streamed movie in September, according to monthly data from JustWatch, the Berlin-based guide that tracks SVOD streaming habits of 20 million users across 59 markets, including the United States. HBO Max’s animated series, “Rick and Morty” was the most-streamed episodic program.
The Tom Cruise-starring sequel to 1986’s Top Gun, Maverick bested Universal Pictures Home Entertainment’s Nope and porn-themed slasher film X, streaming on Prime Video.
Among episodic programming, Prime Video’s “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” finished No. 2, besting “The Patient” on Hulu and HBO Max’s “Game of Thrones” prequel, “House of the Dragon.”
