‘Irresistible’ Tops Redbox Disc Rentals for Third Week; ‘Antebellum’ No. 1 on Digital Chart

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment’s Irresistible remained No. 1 on Redbox’s disc rental chart the for a third week the week ended Sept. 20.

But No. 1 on Redbox’s On Demand chart, which tracks digital rental transactions, was Lionsgate’s Antebellum, the newly released thriller about a modern-day black woman who is seemingly transported into life as a slave on a Southern plantation before the Civil War. The film became available through VOD outlets Sept. 18.

Irresistible was No. 9 on the On Demand chart.

The Lionsgate action movie Rogue rose to No. 2 on the disc rental chart, which tracks DVD and Blu-ray Disc rentals at the company’s more than 40,000 red kiosks.

Universal’s The King of Staten Island slipped to No. 5 on the Redbox On Demand chart, and was No. 3 on the disc chart.

Redbox’s own Hard Kill rose a spot to No. 4 on the disc rental chart, followed by Warner’s Scoob! at No. 5.

The On Demand chart had Universal’s Homefront at No. 2, RLJ’s The Tax Collector at No. 3, and Paramount’s Like a Boss at No. 4.

The top newcomer on the disc chart was Vertical’s The Bay of Silence, a thriller about a man who discovers his wife’s connection to their son’s murder.

Warner’s Cats & Dogs 3: Paws Unite! debuted at No. 8 on the disc chart. Redbox has the disc version for rental three weeks before it becomes widely available Oct. 13.
