Horror Films ‘Jack Frost’ and ‘Jack Frost 2’ Due on DVD and Blu-ray in December From MVD

The horror films Jack Frost (1997) and Jack Frost 2 (2000) are being released on DVD Dec. 21 and as collector’s edition Blu-rays Dec. 28 as part of the MVD Rewind Collection.

In Jack Frost (1997), after five years of terror and 38 bodies in five states, serial killer Jack (Scott MacDonald) is on his way to execution. But a freak accident with a truckload of genetic material in the middle of a snowstorm mutates Jack into a killer snowman. Now only an army can stop the slayride of terror from this frosty monster with icicle fangs. Jack Frost marked the film debut of Shannon Elizabeth (“American Pie” series, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Thir13en Ghosts and Love Actually). Extras on Blu-ray include an introduction and audio commentary with director Michael Cooney; new audio commentary with Tony Piluso, Newt Wallen and Crystal Quin of “Hack the Movies”; a new Empire Promotions’ Dominic Mancini Interview with Scott MacDonald (part one); an interview with director of photography Dean Lent; the original theatrical trailer; reversible cover art featuring original and newly commissioned artwork by Alí Hdz/Brutal Child; and a collectible mini-poster.

In Jack Frost 2: Revenge of the Mutant Killer Snowman (2000), an accidental lab experiment resurrects the evil snowman, but this time, the crystal killer can’t be stopped by fire, bullets or even his worst enemy, chemical anti-freeze. With revenge on his mind, Jack sets out to finish off his nemesis Sheriff Sam (Christopher Allport), who is vacationing on a Caribbean island. Jack freezes the island and quickly ices everyone around him.
