‘Honest Thief’ Swipes No. 1 Spot on Redbox Charts

Universal Pictures’ Honest Thief debuted at No. 1 on both Redbox’s disc rental and On Demand charts the week ended Jan. 3.

The film, which earned $14.2 million at the domestic box office, stars Liam Neeson as a bank robber who agrees to give up his life of crime for the woman he loves, only to encounter corrupt FBI agents in search of his loot.

The previous week’s top title, Universal Pictures’ The War With Grandpa, slid to No. 2 on both charts.

On Redbox’s disc rental chart, which tracks DVD and Blu-ray Disc rentals at the company’s more than 40,000 red kiosks, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment’s Tenet slipped to No. 3, followed by Paramount’s Love and Monsters at No. 4, and Vertical Entertainment’s The Informer at No. 5.

The Redbox On Demand chart, which tracks digital rental transactions, had DreamWorks Animation’s The Croods: A New Age, from Universal Pictures, at No. 3, followed by Lionsgate’s Unhinged at No. 4, and Love and Monsters at No. 5.
