‘Hobbs & Shaw’ Leads Disc Sales in November

Universal Pictures’ Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw was No. 1 on the top 10 list of combined DVD and Blu-ray Disc unit sales for November 2019 according to the NPD Group’s VideoScan tracking service.

The spinoff of the “Fast & Furious” action franchise was released on disc Nov. 5 and earned $173.8 million at the domestic box office.

Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Far From Home was No. 2 on the chart for the second-consecutive month. The film got a boost late in November when it led post-Thanksgiving Black Friday disc sales.

Disney’s photorealistic remake of The Lion King remained No. 3 for another month.

Warner’s Aquaman jumped back onto the monthly charts at No. 4, up from No. 52 the previous month, boosted by Black Friday sales.

The previous month’s top seller, Disney’s Toy Story 4, slipped to No. 5.

The top five titles were unchanged from the previous month, with Disney’s Avengers: Endgame maintaining its position as the top seller of 2019 so far, and Warner’s Aquaman at No. 2, Disney’s Captain Marvel at No. 3, Fox’s Bohemian Rhapsody at No. 4 and Warner’s Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald at No. 5.

Toy Story 4 rose three spots on the yearly chart to No. 6.

Spider-Man: Far From Home climbed to No. 7 for the year, up six spots. Another “Spidey” film, Sony’s animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, stayed at No. 8.

Warner’s A Star Is Born dropped to No. 9, while Lionsgate’s John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum took over the No. 10 spot.

Disney’s Ralph Breaks the Internet and Aladdin remake dropped out of the top 10.
