‘Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard’ Remains No. 1 on Redbox Charts

Lionsgate’s Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard remained No. 1 on both the Redbox disc rental chart and the Redbox On Demand chart the week ended Aug. 29.

It was the second consecutive week on top of both charts for the action comedy, a sequel to 2017’s The Hitman’s Bodyguard starring Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson and Salma Hayek.

No. 2 on the disc rental chart, which tracks DVD and Blu-ray Disc rentals at Redbox’s more than 40,000 red kiosks, was the newly released The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The third “Conjuring” movie earned $65.5 million at the domestic box office.

Another new disc release, Sony Pictures’ Peter Rabbit 2, debuted at No. 3 on the disc rental chart, and was No. 2 on the Redbox On Demand chart, which tracks digital VOD and sellthrough transactions. The family comedy earned $40.3 million at the domestic box office.

Paramount Home Entertainment’s A Quiet Place Part II dropped to No. 4 on the disc rental chart and No. 3 on the Redbox On Demand chart.

MGM and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment’s Wrath of Man dropped to No. 5 on the disc rental chart and No. 4 on the Redbox On Demand chart.

The No. 5 On Demand title was Warner’s Those Who Wish Me Dead, which slipped to No. 7 on the disc rental chart.

Universal Pictures’ Stillwater, a drama about Matt Damon as a man trying to clear his daughter’s name, became available via VOD Aug. 19 and climbed to No. 8 on the digital chart.
