HBO and HBO Max are set to release Victorian-era drama series “The Nevers” with six episodes of the first season (Part One) beginning on April 11 (9-10 p.m. ET/PT). Part Two’s six episodes will follow at a later date.
Set in 1896 London, the city is rocked by a supernatural event that gives certain people — mostly women — abnormal abilities, from the wondrous to the disturbing. No matter their particular acquired assets, all who belong to this new underclass are in grave danger from contemporary forces.
The series follows quick-fisted widow Amalia True (Laura Donnelly) and young inventor Penance Adair (Ann Skelly) to protect and shelter these gifted “orphans” from the brutal forces determined to annihilate their kind.
The cast includes Olivia Williams (The Ghost Writer), James Norton (Little Women), Tom Riley (“Da Vinci’s Demons”), Pip Torrens (“The Crown”), Ben Chaplin (The Thin Red Line), Emmy-nominee Denis O’Hare (“American Horror Story”), Amy Manson (“Once Upon a Time”), Rochelle Neil (Terminator: Dark Fate), Zackary Momoh (Seven Seconds), Eleanor Tomlinson (The Illusionist), Elizabeth Berrington (In Bruges), Anna Devlin (All the Money in the World), Kiran Sonia Sawar (“Pure”), Viola Prettejohn (“The Witcher”), Ella Smith (“Ray & Liz”), Vinnie Heaven as Nimble Jack, and Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead).
