‘Godzilla,’ Secret Life of Pets’ Sequels Top Redbox Disc Rental and On Demand Charts

Warner’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters took over the No. 1 spot on the Redbox kiosk disc rental chart the week ended Sept. 1. The Redbox disc rental chart tracks DVD and Blu-ray Disc rentals at the company’s more than 40,000 red kiosks.

The monster sequel earned $110.5 million at the domestic box office.

Universal Pictures’ The Secret Life of Pets 2 debuted as the No. 2 disc rental and was No. 1 on the Redbox On Demand chart, which tracks digital transactions, including both electronic sellthrough and streaming rentals.

The animated sequel earned $157.8 million in U.S. theaters.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters was No. 2 on the On Demand chart.

No. 3 on both charts was the Universal comedy The Hustle.

Paramount’s Elton John biopic Rocketman debuted at No. 4 on both charts after earning $96.4 million at the domestic box office.

Rounding out the top five disc rentals was Disney’s Avengers: Endgame, down from the top spot a week earlier.

Sony Pictures’ Brightburn, a dark twist on a traditional superhero origin story, was No. 5 on the On Demand chart.
