Fox Launches ‘The Orville’ on DVD Dec. 11

The first season “The Orville” will arrive on DVD Dec. 11 from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.

A comedic sci-fi adventure in the spirit of “Star Trek,” the series was created by and stars Seth MacFarlane, who plays the captain of the U.S.S. Orville, an exploratory spaceship 400 years in the future. The cast includes Adrianne Palicki, Penny Johnson Jerald, Scott Grimes, Peter Macon, Halston Sage, J Lee, Mark Jackson and Chad L. Coleman.

The DVD includes all 12 episodes from the first season plus several featurettes and highlights from the show’s presentation at PaleyFest 2018.

  1. No bluray release?! What a terrific waste! The image quality so good in HD, the textures on the uniforms and other fine details really come out and the colors “pop” impressively. It’s an absolute pleasure to watch this razor-sharp looking show in high-quality HD. I’ve been waiting impatiently for it to become available on bluray so I could take the picture quality up a notch even higher. My plan was to RUN, NOT WALK to the nearest store the very moment I could get it on bluray! But that won’t happen now. I have absolutely no interest in buying the series on a format that’s a step DOWN in picture and sound quality from what’s available on line now–not only is the HD image available online, but Dolby Digital + audio too! Again, what a waste. Shame on you Fox! Why? Why?
