

‘F9’ Drifts to Top of Redbox Charts

Universal Pictures’ F9: The Fast Saga took over the top spots on Redbox’s disc rental and digital charts the week ended Sept. 26.
The latest entry in the “Fast & Furious” franchise was No. 10 the previous week on the Redbox On Demand chart, which tracks digital VOD and sellthrough transactions. It debuted at No. 1 on the disc rental chart, which tracks DVD and Blu-ray Disc rentals at Redbox’s more than 40,000 red kiosks, after arriving on Blu-ray and DVD Sept. 21. The actioner earned $173 million at the domestic box office.
The No. 2 disc rental for a second week remained Marvel Studios’ Black Widow, from Disney. The superhero actioner has earned more than $183.5 million domestically.
DreamWorks Animation’s The Boss Baby: Family Business slipped two spots to No. 3 on the disc rental chart, after debuting in the top spot a week earlier.
Another newcomer, Disney’s Cruella, debuted at No. 4 on the disc rental chart. The film, an origin story for the 101 Dalmatians villain Cruella de Vil, with Emma Stone in the title role, earned $86 million at the domestic box office.

Lionsgate’s Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard, dropped to No. 5 on the Redbox disc rental chart, and slipped to No. 2 on the digital chart after five weeks in the top spot there.
The No. 3 On Demand title, and No. 7 on the disc chart, was Warner’s horror sequel The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It.
The No. 4 Redbox On Demand title remained Universal Pictures’ Candyman relaunch, followed at No. 5 by the Warner/MGM actioner Wrath of Man, which was the No. 8 disc rental.
