‘Elvis’ is King of U.K. Weekly Home Entertainment Sales Chart

Elvis, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment’s biopic about Elvis Presley, topped the weekly Official Film Chart in the U.K. based on digital downloads only through Sept. 28.

Documenting the highs and lows of Elvis’s (Austin Butler) life from childhood to becoming the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll through his complicated relationship with manager Colonel Tom Parker (Tom Hanks), the movie ousted Paramount Home Entertainment’s Top Gun: Maverick (No. 2) from its four-week stint atop the chart.

Warner’s 1987 black comedy/thriller The Lost Boys returned to the chart in the No. 4 spot following a 35th anniversary Steelbook 4K Blu-ray Disc release.

Three new chart entries included: Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman in Disney/Marvel Studios’ Thor: Love and Thunder at No. 6 on digital downloads only; Universal Pictures Home Entertainment’s Ethan Hawke-starring horror film The Black Phone at No. 7; and Warner’s 1982 horror film Poltergeist, which also received a 4K UHD Blu-ray Disc Steelbook as part of its 40th anniversary release.

Rounding off the week’s top 10 are former chart toppers The Batman (Warner) at No. 9 and Universal’s Sing 2 at No. 10.
