Disney Aug. 23 announced that live-action feature film Cruella will be available to Disney+ subscribers for no additional charge Aug. 27.
The movie, starring Oscar winners Emma Stone (La La Land) and Emma Thompson (Howard’s End, Sense and Sensibility), generated $222 million at the global box office, including $86 million in the United States. Disney made the movie available on digital retail platforms June 25, with a disc launch coming Sept. 21.
Set in 1970s London amid the punk rock revolution, Cruella follows a young grifter named Estella (Stone), a clever and creative girl determined to make a name for herself with her designs. She befriends a pair of young thieves who appreciate her appetite for mischief, and together they are able to build a life for themselves on the London streets.
