‘Black Adam,’ ‘Wednesday’ Top Weekly Whip U.S. Streaming Charts
December 21, 2022
Netflix’s “Wednesday” again led the Whip Media chart of streaming originals, while Black Adam, newly streaming on HBO Max, led the Whip Media chart of streaming movies among U.S. consumers for the week ended Dec. 18.
“Wednesday,” which debuted with all episodes on Nov. 23, is a spinoff of the character from the books and TV show “The Addams Family.” The supernaturally infused mystery from director and executive producer Tim Burton charts Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy.
Warner Bros.’ DC Comics-based superhero movie Black Adam started streaming on HBO Max Dec. 16. In the actioner, nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the ancient gods — and imprisoned just as quickly — Black Adam (Dwayne Johnson) is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.
