‘Black Adam’ Returns to No. 1 on DVD and Blu-ray Sales Charts

Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment’s Black Adam returned to the No. 1 spot on the NPD VideoScan First Alert chart, which tracks combined DVD and Blu-ray Disc unit sales, and the dedicated Blu-ray Disc chart the week ended Feb. 4.
This is the fourth time in the top spot in five weeks for the comic book movie, having topped the chart the first three weeks after its debut before being displaced a week ago.
The title that pushed it aside for that one week, Universal Pictures’ Violent Night, slipped to No. 2 on the overall disc sales chart, selling around 90% as many copies as Black Adam. It was No. 3 on the Blu-ray Disc chart.
The No. 3 overall seller and No. 2 on the Blu-ray chart was Paramount’s Top Gun: Maverick, while the original 1986 Top Gun was the No. 4 disc seller.
Lionsgate’s Everything Everywhere All at Once landed at No. 5 overall, and No. 4 on the Blu-ray chart.
The No. 5 Blu-ray Disc seller was Lionsgate’s Mindcage, a thriller about two detectives who seek the help of an incarcerated serial killer to catch a copycat. It was released on disc only on Blu-ray formats and was No. 19 on the overall disc sales chart.

The Media Play News rental chart for the week ended Feb. 5 had Mindcage at No. 1, pushing Violent Night to No. 2 and Black Adam to No. 3.
Lionsgate’s Angry Neighbors was No. 4, followed by Paramount’s Ticket to Paradise at No. 5.
