

‘Black Adam’ Remains No. 1 on DVD and Blu-ray Sales Charts

Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment’s Black Adam remained No. 1 on the NPD VideoScan First Alert chart, which tracks combined DVD and Blu-ray Disc unit sales, and the dedicated Blu-ray Disc sales chart the week ended Jan. 14.
The DC superhero film stars Dwayne Johnson as the title antihero, an ancient warrior freed from a 5,000-year imprisonment.
No. 2 on both charts for a second week in a row was Paramount’s Top Gun: Maverick, following its streak of nine weeks atop the overall disc sales chart.
The No. 3 overall disc seller was Paramount’s 1883, the miniseries prequel to “Yellowstone.” It was No. 14 on the Blu-ray Disc chart.
Universal Pictures’ Halloween Ends slipped a spot to No. 4 on the overall disc chart, but remained No. 3 on the Blu-ray Disc chart.

The No. 5 overall disc seller, and No. 6 on the Blu-ray chart, was Sony Pictures’ historical drama The Woman King.
The No. 4 Blu-ray seller was Lionsgate’s Everything Everywhere All at Once, up from No. 20 the previous week after returning to the spotlight with a slew of awards-season wins. Overall it was No. 13, up from No. 54 a week earlier.
The week’s top newcomer, at No. 18 overall, was Lionsgate’s disc collection of the seventh season of “Fear the Walking Dead.” It saw 30% of its total unit sales come from Blu-ray Disc.
The Media Play News rental chart for the week ended Jan. 15 also had Black Adam at No. 1, with Universal’s Ticket to Paradise maintaining the No. 2 spot.
Lionsgate’s Prey for the Devil remained No. 3, while Universal’s comedy The Estate debuted at No. 4 and Top Gun: Maverick was No. 5.
