‘Birds of Prey’ Tops Redbox Disc Rentals; ‘Fantasy Island’ Leads the Digital Chart

With its release on disc May 12, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment’s Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn took over the No. 1 spot on Redbox’s kiosk disc rental chart the week ended May 17. The comic book movie, which has been available digitally since March 24, landed at No. 6 on the Redbox On Demand chart, up two spots from the previous week.

The Redbox disc rental chart tracks DVD and Blu-ray Disc rentals at the company’s more than 40,000 red kiosks. The Redbox On Demand chart tracks digital rental transactions.

The top digital title available from Redbox was the Blumhouse horror movie adaptation of Fantasy Island, distributed by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. It was the No. 3 disc rental.

The previous week’s top Redbox title, Sony Pictures’ Bloodshot, dropped to No. 2 on both charts.
