‘A Quiet Place 2’ Remains Atop U.K. Home Entertainment Chart

Paramount Home Entertainment’s A Quiet Place Part II remained atop the weekly Official Film Chart in the U.K. through Sept. 1, despite competition from new releases, Warner’s The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It and Disney/Pixar’s Luca.

In its second week at No. 1 due to digital sales only, A Quiet Place Part II finishes 10,000 units ahead of the runner-up — the third “Conjuring” movie and eighth installment of the “Conjuring” universe franchise.

At No. 3, animated family friendly adventure Luca entered the chart following its release on disc and is the biggest seller of the week across DVD and Blu-ray Disc.

Meanwhile, Olivia Colman and Anthony Hopkins star in psychological drama The Father at No. 7. Hopkins’ performance won the 2020 Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of an aging man struggling to deal with his progressing dementia.

Finally, the Tobey Maguire-starring 2002 Spider-Man film landed on the Official Film Chart for the first time ever at No. 9, thanks to the buzz around the recent trailer release for upcoming theatrical release Spider-Man: No Way Home.
